| RCMP Clearance for Coaches & Assistant Coaches
As of 2009, all Coaches & Assistant Coaches were required to submit a recent clearance letter every season that they participate.
All letters must be originals and submitted prior to the start of the season.
When your request to participate as a coach or assistant coach has been entered into our system, you will receive an email confirming your request and providing the due date of your clearance letter.**New - because of incidents of fraud you will no longer receive a letter from SPMSA to produce at the RCMP detachment. Your name will be provided to the RCMP and when you go to the detachment to request your clearance letter, the fee will be waived**
The Sherwood Park detachment had reduced hours in 2008, so please ensure that you are aware of any reduced hours they may have for 2010.
When you receive your clearance letter, it must state; “The vulnerable persons check (for a position of authority or trust dealing with children, elderly or handicapped persons) has been done for this subject.” This indicates that you have not been charged with a criminal offense relating to a minor, etc.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please email pres@spmsa.com. All information is kept strictly confidential.
